In West Cheltenham, we offer a couple of different services depending on what route you decide is best for you and your family.
This includes both Baptism (Christenings), and Services of Blessing.
Baptism is a sign of belonging to the church community so it is important that you get to meet and know the clergy and others members of the church family before we are able to move forwards with a baptism. We invite you to come along to a few morning services at either St Mark’s or St Barnabas to get to know people.
We will then be able to discuss doing a Baptism Introduction session before undertaking further preparation to ensure you are comfortable with the baptism promises that will be made.

A Service of Blessing involves less time-commitment, and is a wonderful opportunity to gather family and friends if you aren’t sure whether you/your child is ready for a Baptism, or if you would like them to be able to make the decision for themselves in later life. If you would like to discuss this, please email office@westchelt.org.uk in the first instance with your name and a contact phone number, letting us know you’re interested in a blessing, and one of the team will be in touch.
